ABOUT THE COMPETITION
There are 3 parts to AAPC Inked Idols; the 2 online competitions (themed and the adjacent) and a full live parade show. All parts to the competition are judged by a panel, according to the judging criteria set. The live show will consist of state heats (where possible) and a Grand Final in South Australia.
HOW TO ENTER
LIVE SHOW
To enter, Contestants are required to submit an application form via google forms, $50 application fee and supply 2 professional photograph for promotions. Photograph sections – Personality & Show your skin. All pieces of application must be completed for the entry to be deemed successful.
When submitting an entry, competitors may elect to enter whichever state heat (IE: SA or VIC) they prefer. Competitors may enter more than one state heat but a fee is payable per state entered.
After submission, applications are reviewed and a confirmation email sent to successful finalists with registration forms for the events. Registration forms must be received at latest 2 weeks before the events. This is to ensure we can process all documents and send the appropriate information to each staff member.

Division breakdowns:
Inked Idols annual competition
- MX Australian Inked Idol (Open division. 18+)
- Miss Inked Idol (18-34)
- Ms Inked Idol (35+)
- Mr Inked Idol (18+)
Inked Idol live parade competition
Entries open to female and male competitors, over the age of 18.
First round is heats – where the top placing competitors will move through to finals.
In heats competitors will be asked to present 2 “looks”. “Personality” Themed outfit and “Show your skin” swimwear/lingerie section. Each parade will be subject to a “Pose off” at the completion of the personality parade.
There will also be a tattoo judging section which takes place off stage.
Finals will have additional sections; a Casual/everyday plus a separate tattoo show section, prior to the catwalks on the day for judges to score the tattoo section of the competition.
A “Pose off” is where all competitors are on stage at the same time. Competitors are required to hold a pose (completely still) for 60 seconds.
First place in each division will be awarded to the competitor who demonstrates the highest level of poise, sound knowledge of styling plus technical skill and ability and over all impression, combined with tattoo art scoring.
Judging criteria
Posing Is the model comfortable? Is it a complimentary pose? Standard or unique?
Poise & Confidence How confident is the model? Display good posture and body awareness?
Styling Costuming, Props appropriation, Cohesion, Appropriation
Capture (of image) Do they make you stop and look (for the right reasons)? Is it clear, in focus?
Concept Refers to originality, costuming/theme
Adhere/Appropriate Continuity with rules
Overall Uniqueness, X factor, Stage presence, Audience engagement.
Tattoo cohesion Has the model chosen complimentary outfits you can see the tattoos?
