The AAPC ONLINE 2020 COMPETITION!

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO APPLY?
Well... read on to find out all the dot points you need!!
Dates: Entries open September 1st and close November 30th
Submissions: An entry must include – Fee payment ($25) & Form filled. The application form has sections for you to upload an image for promotional purposes, and your video link. You may enter more than one submission, but each entry must be complete (IE: you must fill a form, and pay a fee for each video you submit for judging)
Divisions: We are offering 5 divisions…
-Novice Pole Beginner and Intermediate level* only, pole must be used
-Novice Non-Pole Beginner and Intermediate level* only, no pole. (Floor, Acro, Dance)
-Open Pole Open level, pole must be used
-Open Non-Pole Open level, no pole. (Floor, Acro, Dance)
-“After Dark” 18+ entry (Exotic/Erotic style)

Routines: All routines lengths are to be a minimum 2 mins and maximum 3 mins.
There are no set criteria for this introduced competition, apart from the use of a pole or not. The movement rulings for the standard pole comp do not apply.
"After Dark" entries judging basis is geared toward the flow and composition of routine. It can be either pole or non-pole, or a combination of both; Entries will be judged according to which is included.
Videos: May be edited for effect. All videos must be shot within 12 months of submission.
Judging criteria: As with all AAPC competitions, judging is less on degree of difficulty and more on presentation and execution. For the online comp we are using the standardised judging criteria, tweaked for broader online entry style. Points will be accumulated to a total, and there are no deductions applicable for this comp.
Scoring breakdown is as follows…
5 Fluidity and Transitioning
5 Strength and Control in moves
5 Lines and Full extension
5 Full execution of movement
5 Costuming and Props
5 Musicality
10 Creativity and Originality (X factor)
10 Dance/Theatrics OR Pole component
Winners:
We will announce a winner and runner-up in each category, and will have a few fun supplementary awards. Winners will receive a sashie, prize pack and crown; and all entrants will receive a thank you pack for entering.
All videos will be shared (from the source – your platform) for viewing and a winners video will be compiled for distribution and upload from our platforms. We will also use the videos in our post competition “viewing parties”.
